Site Survey and Site Audits
The engineering effort behind preparing the Installation Specification begins with the Site Survey or Site Walk. Using your scope of work that defines the radio equipment requirements, MTSI will dispatch a technician to the radio site to audit the facilities. The technician uses a comprehensive checklist during the site walk that documents every aspect of the site and includes but not limited to:
- Equipment shelter and content
- Signal cabling requirements
- Power and ground
- Antenna system and transmission line
- Other miscellaneous ancillary hardware requirements
Detailed measurements are recorded for the equipment room floor plan that will be used to generate floor plan drawings. These drawings are used by the equipment installers as well as serve as a permanent record of the radio equipment room layout.
MTSI provides Site Survey services for wireless networks. MTSI’s skilled and experienced technicians perform site surveys for systems operating in licensed and unlicensed frequency bands for radio systems operating between 400 MHz and 80 GHz. Transmission facilities can range from the following:
- TDM based radio systems carrying DS1, DS3, and OC3 traffic
- M13 multiplex and SONET fiber mux equipment
