Acceptance and Integration Testing

To ensure the radio network performance meets manufacturing specifications, MTSI performs acceptance testing and equipment turn-up using the equipment manufacturers test procedures.

MTSI is also capable of executing customer specific Factory Acceptance Tests or other custom acceptance test plans depending on the requirements of the project. MTSI’s field technicians are skilled and experienced with using a wide range of test equipment to successfully execute test plans and validate the performance of wireless networks.

Typical acceptance testing includes the following services:

  • Verifying transmit power and frequency
  • RFC 2544 testing
  • Alarm thresholds
  • Validation of receive signal level (RSL, RSSI) and fade margin
  • Radio BER threshold
  • Features such as Automatic Transmit Power Control (ATPC) or Adaptive Coding and Modulation (ACM) are provisioned

Link performance is tested by performing an end-to-end bit error rate (BER) test that assures performance meets or exceeds the manufacturer’s nominal level. The BER test durations vary between 4 to 24 hours depending on the projects requirements.

An RFC 2544 test is performed on IP based Ethernet links to ensure the link’s throughput, latency, and frame loss meets expectations.

The results of the acceptance testing is documented in test data forms and become part of the customer acceptance sign-off documentation package. MRSI performs acceptance testing for new installations, relocations, system upgrades, and participates in traffic cutover projects.
